Use hobbled Roman shade, it’s an easy way to achieve a designer look for your window. The equal folding of the shades expresses a relaxed symmetry along the lines of the window, and it’s cascading appearance adds a subtle dramatic effect to the window. You can achieve a more casual look for a hobbled roman shade by using a different fabric, such as denim. It works best for more youthful appearance.

Use flat roman shades for an understated yet elegant look. The simplicity of a flat roman shade evokes tranquility and absence of complexity which makes it a very good fit to complement an overall Zen-like design. You can mix up the overall design of the flat roman shade choosing different materials or fabrics such as polyester, cotton or denim. You can also opt for different materials such as taffeta or suede.

Use relaxed Roman shade. A relaxed roman shade is very similar to the flat variety of roman shade except that it has only 2 strings that are basically used to pull up and pull down the shades. When this shade is partially lowered, it creates soft and rounded center section which adds a subtle accent to window.

Use bamboo brown roman shades. The use of organic material such as bamboo adds a significant dimension to the design of the roman shade. Bamboo material has some advantages over traditional fabric because they are easier to clean and maintain. You can have a lot of dexterity on the effects and design of the bamboo shade because you can have them tainted with different colors—natural varnish or wood stains works best. You can also change the width of the individual bamboos, some use match-stick sized bamboos and some others go for wide panel bamboos.
